Pension is the only mode of income for many retired employees. The central and state government employees get a monthly pension after retirement. However, they have to provide a life certificate every year in the month of November in order to continue receiving a monthly pension. It can be difficult at times for ageing pensioners to visit the bank to submit their life certificate every year.
The Government of India has come up with a digital life certificate named Jeevan Pramaan. It is a biometric-enabled digital life certificate for pensioners.
