7th Pay Matrix Table

The 7th Pay Commission pay matrix is an easy-to-understand table, which presents all of the pay levels in one simple chart. Many of the demands of the government employees who come under the purview of the 7th Pay Commission have been incorporated in the new pay matrix. Some of them include standard pay for employees in the entry-level, transparent pay structure, common treatment of similar cadres, etc.

With the pay matrix, employees can view their pay level, where they fit in, the likely path of pay progression and the career ladder, among other things. The grade pay has been factored in and the levels have been rationalised. The table enables government employees to view their current pay level and assess their current status and growth potential over the years of their career. Additionally, the procedures relating to calculation of pension have also been simplified.

7th Pay Matrix Table for Employees of the Central Government

There are two dimensions to the table. Under the horizontal range, every level corresponds to a functional role in the hierarchy, with numbers assigned from 1 to 18. The vertical range for every level shows pay-progression in that level.
