Dadra & Nagar Haveli is a union territory of India. The Dadra & Nagar Haveli RTO is established to administer the functions assigned to it under the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988. The regional transport office of Dadra & Nagar Haveli is entrusted with the responsibility of doing various transport related activities such as issuance of permits, collection of road taxes, issuance of driving license and others. Dadra & Nagar Haveli is headed by a transport commissioner whose duty is to ensure swift working of the public transport system. Dadra & Nagar Haveli RTO also functions as per the laws of Dadra & Nagar Haveli Motor Vehicle Rules - 1991.
A vehicle insurance policy is mandatory for every vehicle registered at Dadra & Nagar Haveli RTO as per The Motor Vehicle Act, 1988.
