The RTO office of Indore was created under the section 213(1) of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988. The RTO department is responsible to implement acts and provisions passed by the Motor Vehicles Department. The RTO office organises and develops road transportation in the city through permits. The department is headed by the Transport Commissioner.
A vehicle insurance is mandatory for every vehicle registered at Indore RTO as per The Motor Vehicle Act, 1988.
