Borivali RTO is established to work under the provisions of Motor Vehicles Act, 1988. The regional transport office of Borivali comes under Maharashtra State Vehicles Department and is headed by transport commissioner of the state. The main job of the Borivali RTO is to execute the functions assigned to it under section 213(1) of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988.
