Wadala is a locality in the eastern side of Mumbai. The regional transport office of Wadala is established under the provisions of section 213(1) of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988. The Wadala RTO is headed with the responsibility of implementing various regulatory and enforcement functions related to road transport and safety. Primary job of Wadala RTO includes collection of road taxes, grant and renewal of permits, registration of motor vehicles and others.
A car insurance policy is mandatory for every vehicle registered at Wadala RTO as per The Motor Vehicle Act, 1988.
