Cuttack is a city in the Indian state of Odisha. The regional transport office of Cuttack is established to work under the provisions of section 213(1) of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988. The primary job of officials of the Cuttack RTO is to ensure smooth functioning of the road transport system in the city. Cuttack RTO is headed by a transport commissioner who is responsible to bring about enforcement of various road safety measures for building a safe and effective public transport system. Cuttack RTO is involved in carrying out transport related activities such as collection of road tax, control vehicle pollution, issue driving license and others.
A vehicle insurance policy is mandatory for every vehicle registered at Cuttack RTO as per The Motor Vehicle Act, 1988.
